High Point Awards

AHANM Circuit Awards Program 2025

Eligibility:

Rider/Handler must be a current youth or adult AHA member in good standing of AHANM at the time points are earned. Club 8082 must be included in AHA membership. This includes All Breed, AQHA, ApHC, ABRA, Speed and Exceptional contenders.

General Program Rules:

1.     Must attend 1 show in 2025 for overall high point saddles. Only 1 Show minimum for all division awards.

·       LOEC (Land of Enchantment) 1xpoints

·       Preshow Region 8 1x points

·       Region 8 Championship show 2x points

·       Tentative State Fair 1 x points

2.     Points will be tracked automatically from official show results. No reporting is necessary.

3.     Division awards are horse/rider combinations.

4.     Overall high point saddles are with all riders/handlers and all points earned by the horse for their eligible saddle. This includes professionals and amateurs/youth.

5.     The point scale is based on a max of 6 points per class. Each placing is awarded 1 point for each horse they place above, plus themselves. Example: In a class of 4, 1st place gets 4 points, 2nd gets 3, 3rd gets 2 and 4th gets 1 point. In a class of 10, the maximum points are 6 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, and so on. Single-entry classes get one point. Region 8 will be awarded double points.

6.     In the case of a tie for any award, the winner is picked by the greatest number of 1st place winnings in classes of more than 1 entry.

7.     Arabians and Half Arabian/AA points in recognized classes will go to their respective divisions. All Breed class placings count toward the Overall Arabian or HA/AA saddles only, not division awards. This means Arabians and H/A may show in All Breed classes and those points will go to the Overall only.

8.     Any breed, excluding registered Arabian and HA, are eligible to win All Breed awards.

9.     AQHA, ApHC and ABRA high point division awards are restricted to their breed recognized classes. All Breed points go towards the All Breed awards/Saddle.

10. Final standings will be presented with awards at the Annual Awards Banquet in January following the competition year. Winners must be present or send a representative to receive their award. Awards will not be shipped and will be considered forfeited to the next eligible recipient (reserve).

11. Equitation points will go to the discipline the seat represents. (ex: Horsemanship is western pleasure, showmanship is halter)

12. Open classes ridden by amateurs will go towards their amateur/youth divisions.

13. Divisions may be combined or further split by Awards Committee based on participation.

14. Special recognition for Rookie of the Year, Versatile Youth, Ambassador and other sponsored awards may be presented at committee discretion based on full-year participation.

15.  More breeds and discipline-specific awards may be developed with support/sponsorships.

16. Speed Events (Barrels, Poles and Flags) will be counted for at the March Faux Show gymkhana, Land of Enchantment speed events, and any gymkhanas hosted by the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Posse and sponsored by AHANM. High Point Saddle for overall rider with the highest placings for the year and age division awards presented at the Banquet. Age division awards can be modified at the discretion of the committee.
